I started my life in western Germany as the child of two parents who were influenced by a traumatic childhood during World War 2 and the rough, confusing, very poor years afterwards.
My Mother was born in Eastern-Germany, former DDR and she fled towards Western Germany BRD when she was old enough, because she dit not want to spend her life behind “the wall”. My father was born in the west and driven to travel and enjoy as much of the world as he could, as my parents were building up their life in the years of economic recovery. “Wirtschaftswunder”…
I was influenced by the traces left by these developments – not only within my parents. Since I was a small child I was longing to find out what causes so much suffering, lonelyness and violence within humans and human relationships. There was a ceretain amout of “wealth” growing here and there but there still was little happyness or fulfillment. There still was a lot of suffering, destruction, cruelty and mental pain. And: Since I was a small child, I was miraculously attracted by Indigenous Cultures, without being encouraged to follow this calling by my surroundig.
Thus after school I decided to study psychology in order to find answers. I finished – and started – with a university degree as a scientifically certified “psychologist” being very unsatisfied with just an insufficient amount of answers, little heartfelt connectedness, a lot of fragmented knowlege and even more questions than before.
While I started working in the social field, with psychiatric patients, homeless people, historically-traumatized clients, and later on, with unemployed peoples of various ages struggling to find their way in life, I was lucky to meet my first wholistic systems teacher. He was a former school-teacher, also traumatized by the history around World War II. Working in the field of individual, transgenerational, and collective trauma, he had been led towards the indigenous ways of being and of healing. He had travelled the USA as a very young man already, being mentored by a powerful Native American Medicine Man. It was like being struck by lightening when I entered his class for the first time and I realized: This was exactly what I had been missing and longing for since the beginning of my life.
Since then, I kept and keep improving my education as a psychologist, social worker, psychosocial coach and a, I use this very humbly, healer – learnig from various indigenous teachers, integrating indigenous wisdom in my work as much as possible. Striving to contribute to the healing, that is so much needed in our current times of increasing destruction caused by a traumatized, disconnected humanity, in various ways.
On this path I found out about Darcia Narvaez, president of Kindred World, and her work with the Evolved Nest Initiative, who is also synthesizing and integrating these different worldviews and who is doing such an amazing work in this field. Thanks to her, I am realizing and remembering how important it is to take care of our Children and Inner Children as the carriers of the seeds for a healthy future, not only for ourselves but for “All our Relations” in wholistic, healthy, loving, peaceful connectedness with ourselves, all life and elements on our beautiful Mother Earth and with the Spiritual Worlds of Great Mystery as well.
I am honored and deeply grateful that I may contribute to the Evolved Nest Initiative’s work and her positive vision around healthy wholistic living and nesting by helping to make it available to the German-speaking audience. We need it over here as well; we need you and all these positive energies, learning materials and insights over here, very much.
With love,
