“The communal evolved nest represents love in action, shaping inner human nature with a biology of love, which archeological studies confirm in our deep ancestry. Loving treatment shapes the child’s biopsychosociality to be one of a loving nature. Growing up with ubuntu, ‘I am because we are,’ is foundational to species-typical human being and becoming. In this view, everything of import is rooted in relationship; the depth, breadth, and qualities of connections influence all one is and does. From the beginning of life to its end, loving interbeing fosters well-being, at the psychological, bio- logical, and social levels… Nestedness, then, provides a cultural commons for the development of a prosocial human nature and flourishing.” – Darcia Narvaez, PhD, Ecopsychology Journal

A Letter from the Founders
Join Us in Welcoming a Wisdom-based, Wellness-informed World
It is with great joy and hope for our future we share with you the long-awaited Nested World Initiative and Nesting Ambassador Program. The Nested World launched live on November 15, 2025 on the Maternal Gift Economy’s 88th Salon (see video presentation).
As a small, grassroots nonprofit, we at Kindred World (and Evolved Nest Initiative) have relied on our commitment to embody our values of integration, strategic vision, and radical acceptance to complete our mission. Over the years, we’ve developed initiatives and projects based on need, your expressed needs, presented through our Kindred World Ecology (see KW’s Ecology Map here).
How can we transform the future together? We can bring forth a Nested World. Humanity’s millions year-old pathway to wellbeing, our Evolved Nest, supports our heart wisdom, provides a scaffolding to becoming whole humans, and connects us to all of life, reclaiming our belonging to the Earth and our Kinship Worldview.
Want to see how it’s done? Read Field Reports from the 2025 Cohort Nesting Ambassadors themselves, and discover their plans and projects for integrating the science of the Evolved Nest and deep wisdom of Kinship Worldview right where in they are: in their own families, communities, fields of study, professional realms, and public policy. You can meet Certified Nesting Ambassadors and discover their Community Projects in the Global Certified Nesting Ambassador Directory.
Below you will find gifts from us to you in celebration of our shared vision for transforming the future together.

As Ilya Prigogine, a Nobel Laureate, states, “When a complex system is far from equilibrium, small islands of coherence in a sea of chaos have the capacity to shift the entire system to a higher order.”
We have a plan. We can do this, together.
In peace and gratitude,
Darcia Narvaez, PhD, President, Kindred World

“We are immersed in species-atypical spaces growing species-atypical human beings. Our baselines for what we think is normal have shifted so much we do not realize how atypical we are. Atypical environments leave us dysregulated, easily upset, and disruptive. Species-typical childhoods nurture a healthy neurobiology, sociality, and compassionate morality. Species-typicality, our evolved nest, is needed for species and planetary wellbeing.”
